Project: Basker Manta Development

Gippsland Basin, Bass Strait Victoria, Australia

The project involved the first use of a floating production, storage and offtake FP(S)O vessel in the Gippsland Basin.

The production system incorporates the innovative use of the unique FP(S)O Crystal Ocean with its triple-redundant dynamic positioning system, located near the Basker-2 well, and the 680,000 barrel capacity shuttle tanker Basker Spirit situated at the Single Point Mooring, which will allow the periodic shipment of crude to the marketplace.

At peak production the Basker Manta oil project anticipated to be capable of producing 30,000 to 35,000bpd. Average rate over the first year of full production is forecast to be 25,000bpd.

The Basker, Manta and Gummy fields are 50-75km offshore from the Victorian Coast. Shedden Uhde completed the EP(CM) services for the topsides modifications for both the Extended Production Test and the Full Field Development Phases of the project.
