The Turrum Oil Project is being undertaken to develop oil reserves in the Turrum sands that underlay the Marlin Field in Bass Strait. Shedden Uhde has been commissioned to initially assist Esso Australia in the selection of the field development concept and then to define that concept into a detailed FEED package. The concepts range from maximum use of existing infrastructure in multiple locations to installation of a new platform and pipeline. The crude has a high pour point with tendency to form emulsions and the gas is acidic.
Shedden Uhde defined the process, flow assurance, construction, operations, capital and operating cost and schedule parameters associated with each option. We facilitated and participated in workshops to accelerate the concept selection phase. Opportunities were identified and incorporated to significantly improve the overall project schedule by highlighting critical activities at an early stage.
