Mexico active in Alberta Oil Sands

Uhde Engineering de Mexico is working together with sister companies Krupp Canada and TK Robbins on the ore preparation plant for the Imperial Oil Kearl Project in Northern Alberta, Canada.  The project is an EPC Lump sum turn key facility. The UEM scope is the detailed design of the slurry preparation plant, which provides secondary crushing and sieving of the ore, followed by mixing with water to produce a slurry for further treatment and extraction of the oil.

The facility is to be built in Fort McMurray region where the winter temperatures can reach minus 50o C. The conditions are harsh and the design standards for the Alberta region exacting.  The team is quickly developing the skills necessary to deliver plants designed for the extreme conditions in Alberta.
