Shedden Uhde - Sasol CPF Expansion to 183 PJ/annum

Project: Sasol Central Processing Facility
Expansion to 183 PJ/annum

Mozambique, Africa

Sasol’s Temane gas development is located near Vilanculos in Mozambique. The onshore Central Processing Facility (CPF) is designed to supply 122 PJ/annum of conditioned natural gas via pipeline to consumers in Mozambique and South Africa and to process the associated condensate for export by road tanker.

Shedden Uhde, together with its affiliate Uhde South Africa, undertook a conceptual study, followed by basic engineering to increase the capacity to 183 PJ/annum.

The facility expansion included additional gas processing including TEG dehydration, dew point control, HP compression and fiscal metering as well as condensate stabilisation and storage facilities and upgrade of utilities as necessary. The increased gas processing rate is to be maintained by production of new reserves from the Pande field and the project also includes the installation of a new slugcatcher to accommodate fluids arriving from the new pipeline. A dynamic model of the pipeline and a flow assurance study were also performed.

Detailed design was undertaken by Uhde South Africa with on going process support from the Melbourne office.
